I'm having difficulty getting information online about what this inscription might mean.

The letters are inscribed on a silver finger ring, purportedly second century Roman.

It's possible the Q could be an O, but I don't think so.
I have no Latin knowledge. I'm not sure that these are words; possibly they are abbreviations?

If any possibilities come to mind, please let me know.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Looks like Greek to me. The Q could be an Omega and the V an Upsilon. But I wouldn't know what it meant! Mark something?
