"A happy family is but an earlier heaven"

Matthaeus

Vemortuicida strenuus
Out of curiosity, could you tell us why you chose Latin over any other language?

Matthaeus

Vemortuicida strenuus
Ah, ok. But "an earlier heaven" leaves me scratching my head. Could you elaborate what you mean directly?

Perhaps: beata domus nihil est aliud quam prior paradisus... A happy household is nothing else but an earlier paradise.

Matthaeus

Vemortuicida strenuus
you could elide the verb too
I guess he means "a heaven on earth"

Yes, an earlier paradise here before you go to the one some think is up there.

Matthaeus

Vemortuicida strenuus
just lose the est for brevity's sake
