About the modal Verb WOULD...

Puer Pedens

The deliberative subjunctive is used in questions when a person is wondering what they should do or should’ve done. It can be found in 2 tenses – present or imperfect.

  1. Quid faciam? What am I to do? / What should I do?
  2. Quid facerem? What was I to do? / What should I have done
Ok, But my question is; If I were to ask: What would I do?, how should I construct that sentence and convey that meaning?

Looks like the apodosis of a less vivid conditional, with an unstated protasis ("(if X were to happen,) what would I do?") Since this also uses present subjunctive, the sentence would in fact be identical: Quid faciam?
