inter sē capita et manibus iam tangeret aequīs,

What sense can we make from tangeret manibus aequis? When shooting you would have one arm outstretched and the other bent at the elbow, or does he mean that she stretched it so far that both arms were outstretched? The latter doesn't sound like a very accurate position for shooting.

What sense can we make from tangeret manibus aequis? When shooting you would have one arm outstretched and the other bent at the elbow
I don't see how that runs against the idea of the lines ... both of her hands had to endure the same amount of tension: Her left hand was holding the bow while her right hand stretched the bowstring all the way back to her breast (or to what was left of it).
