I'm starting to name some military and civilian honors (think Medal of Honor/George's Cross) that the Empress can award for various things. For example, the highest non-elevating civilian honor (think Malta's George's Cross from World War II) is the Decussis Sírina (Siria's Cross). Currently, of the only other three named insignia (we use the plural as a singular), two are equivalents that ascend families into the nobility, the Order/Commendation of Merit for civilians and the Legion of Merit for service members, and the third is highest non-elevating military honor, the Medal of Valour—which may end up as the Decussis Ferreum (Iron Cross) and is equivalent to America's Medal of Honor. What's a good translation for each of Order of Merit, Commendation of Merit, Legion of Merit, and Medal of Valour?
