Thanks kindly to cato on his reply i was wondering if i could get a confirmation or other peoples interpretation on this translation.

"Benedictus Deo - "Blessed by God" (plural is Benedicti Deo)
Maledictus hominibus - "Cursed by man" (plural is Maledicti hominibus)" Written by Cato

If any one has any input that would be much appreciated

I agree with Cato.

Of course there are often multiple good ways to translate a given phrase. Benedictus is one way to say "blessed"; another is beatus. But I think that benedictus is almost certainly the one you want here, because of the nice contrast with maledictus.

One further detail: the forms given by Cato are specifically masculine. The corresponding feminine forms would be:

benedicta /benedictae and maledicta /maledictae

and the neuters

benedictum /benedicta and maledictum /maledicta.
