Tattoo "Become like iron, for only the strong survive."

Hello all :) any help with this one would be much appreciated.

Google translate has coughed up:

robustum velut ferrum fiunt sola superstes

Which roughly translates back to "strong as iron are only survivor" ..which doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Google Translate rarely makes sense when it comes to Latin.

Fac fias quale ferrum, soli enim validi in vita manent.

Haha, I have found that out first hand!

Thanks, that sounds a lot better. Is that an exact translation or does such a thing not exist for Latin?

It's as close as I can get. I think it conveys the original meaning, but if you're curious as to what it says word for word, it's roughly: "Make so that you become like iron, for only the strong stay in life."
