I'd like to know if my translation of the following sentences is correct.

"Cur enim potius aliquis Hippocrati credat quam Herophilo? Cur huic potius quam Asclepiadi?"

"Why, indeed, would someone believe in Hippocrates rather than in Herophilus? Why in this latter rather than in Asclepiades?"

Very close, but you have left out potius (preferable). Credo takes the dative, which explains the case endings.

Why then is it preferable that someone should believe in Hippocrates than Herophilius? Why the latter rather than Asclepiades?
