Cool Latin Team Name (VPR, XTRM)

Ignis Umbra

Ignis Aeternus
I don't see why that couldn't be a possibility.

Interesting.

Wouldn't the plural be more appropriate?

Not necessarily for a team.
In fact, as I consider it, no, singular is better.
Velox Potens Robustus looks like it's talking about one guy. Should a team be masculine?

I don't think the niceties are important. He just wants something that sounds cool.
You may well be right that the feminine would be more correct (I don't know), but whether he'll go for it?? (I doubt it, says Croker (as my father used always say for some reason we never did work out.))

Feminine form:
Velox Potens Robusta

Why the feminine...? What seems most natural to me is still the masculine plural.

Iohannes Aurum

Technicus Auxiliarius
Well, Aurifex got here before me and moved it to the right subforum.

However, I have changed the title to something more fitting.

Maybe
Veloces Potentes Robusti

Not that it will matter a whole lot in this case, since it's really just the look and sound of it that will matter, I think, but how did Latin deal with collectives? Anyone?

The problem is that I don't think we have many traces left of Roman team mottos. There isn't even one precise word for "team" which we could adopt the gender of and say it's implied - there are a few words that approach it, but... even then it doesn't look natural to me somehow. My guess is that considering the members rather than the "team" is the safest way...

I've just never seen the adjectival form used with the verb "sounds" before.
It's a ubiquitous collocation.
It seems like there's even a hip-hop band called like that.

I don't either.

Perhaps he means like they don't dare to revisit the same place because they stole all the money there and are afraid of going back to the place of their crime? I don't know, really. :p
