Hi! I need help with part of the below text, what is the meaning of dudum in 'que dudum dicioni subiacebat Beneventanorum'. Your help is welcome! :)

That is the short answer ;) The longer answer is that particularly in a mediaeval setting you would have to see how the author uses the word. He could mean something like a while ago, some time ago, even maybe a long time ago. Here though I think it is formerly ;)

I believe `formerly` sits well with the overall meaning of the phrase. The description matches with Bari, and the text continues telling that the traveller goes from Bari to Taranto.
