I am having trouble understanding why the ablative is used in this sentence. Could anyone please help me?

It's an ablative of manner or means (arguably a mixture of both) to the verb excipit.

Thank you for your answer. But if "laeto sinu Jordanas" (happy bay of Jordan) is an ablative of manner, which is the subject of the sentence? Or am I assuming that Jordanis is genitive, while in fact it is nominative?
