The first option seems more logical at first sight. But I've come across the other as well.

I know "for your safety and that of others" is, in any case, a correct alternative. But I'd still like to know about the more concise constructions in the poll.

It wouldn't make sense to say "for yours safety" by itself, would it?
Putting "for others'" at the end of that shouldn't confuse the issue but it does for some people.

The expression "Merry Christmas to you and yours" comes to mind. I suppose there's an implied "[that family of]" or some such before the yours.
