Hi all.

Could someone help with putting these into Latin:

Comparative 1
harder than rock
more beautiful than a princess
darker than night
blacker than coal
more handsome than a prince

Comparative 2
as black as coal
as dark as night
as beautiful as a princess
as handsome as a prince

Thank!

Re: Quick translation

On the off chance this is homework, I'm going to demure from directly translating these. However I will offer some suggestions:

The list in "Comparative 1" are all saying something is more X (adj.) than Y (noun). Place X the adjective in the comparative form and Y the noun in the ablative. quam = "than" is often omitted unless the adjective is in an oblique case (gen., Dat. Abl.) or there is a chance things could get confusing without it.

The list in "Comparative 2" is a different animal; here you're comparing something as equal in quality to something else. There are a host of comparative adverbs in Latin (I call them t-q pairs), but a good understanding of tam...quam = "as...as" is the place to start.
