I see multiple instances where this quote is claimed to be from a Latin Proverb, yet I can't find it in my list of Latin Quotations.

Does anyone have a Latin source for this, or is it just another internet myth?

Churchill is also commonly given as a source. All sounds very suspicious!

I used to believe that this was a Churchill quote, too. I really tried, but I can't seem to find any Latin equivalent
