In James B Finch Completely Parsed Classics,on page 117 prex, precis quote ...used in the sing. only in the abl. ...unquote.Context... cum magna ex parte eorum precibus... I am asking why James said that as precibus is a plural ?

Dantius

Homo Sapiens

in orbe lacteo
In the singular, prex never appears in the nominative and genitive, and only rarely in the dative and accusative. So the ablative singular is the only common singular form. However, all the plural forms occur.
