hi im tryin to find out what english words have similar meanings and sound similar to latin words :noclue: ! Here is an example: Scribit. means write. Similar words in english: scribe scribble script. All those words have a similar meaning too. Here are the words im stuck on: Clamat (means shout) Laudat (means praise) Bibit (means drink)
Cantat (means sing)! Any help would be GREATLY appreciated :dancing: . Please dont lie either :---) !

All of the verbs listed are int the third person singular, i.e., he/she/it writes/shouts/praises, etc.

I know that I am probably answering a homework question, but since it isn't a meaningful problem I'll offer these words:

Clamare - exclaim
Laudare - laud
Bibere - winebibber
Cantare - chant

Clamat: exclamation, declaim, clamour (or clamor in the US).

Bibit: imbibe, bibulous.

Cantat: incantation, canticle, chant, descant

Of course I could be lying. Just to be sure I suggest you check any answers in a dictionary. ;)

Ah, that explains something. I was pretty sure that Cattulus didn't write "Pedicebo ego vos. . ."

In all seriousness, though, don't use Imber's list :p
