I would love a tattoo that has something in the lines of Lord bless and protect my family.

It can be in diffrent words because what I just put up is not good and that is why I need your help. I am a guy who grew up with a older brother and a mother in East Los Angeles and was able to get out of there with out being shot or get into a gang. I really love my family because that is all I have and love them dearly andd I really want something on my back for them and me.

Benedicat Dominus familiam meam.

There has been a lot of discussion here about Latinizing "to protect". Latin verbs that might be used include defendo, tueor, and custodio. All other things being equal, I would lean toward tueor here:

Benedicat Dominus et tueatur familiam meam.

Or perhaps one of our colleagues may have a better suggestion.
