Possibly also "luctor et supersum".

It's hard really to describe the difference. My anthropology teacher would say it's "emic" not "etic" and so really can't be described well. Supervivo is super (above, beyond, etc.)+vivo (I live). Supersum is super+sum (I am). In terms of translation to English they're the same.
