Movies with Latin in them

What movies/TV shows are there that have used even a little spoken Latin?

The only ones I can think of are Tombstone and the Passion of Christ.

all kinds of movies featuring exorcisms ... although you'd get the impression it's the horrible pronunciation of the priests that drives out the demons

Did "Constantine" have any Latin in it?

I've always wondered why devils can't understand any language other than poorly-spoken Latin.

The exorcism scene in Constantine, the whisper starting at 4:56, is that English? With that clarity of pronunciation it could be Russian, and I still would not be able to tell

Maybe Constantine only exorcised modern demons, who no longer knew Latin :D

Our youtube tag for some reason does not understand il.youtube.com. If you replace "il" with "www", it will work just fine. Also, make sure you remove "&feature=related" from the end of the URL.

I edited your above post to fix it.

Offtopic: with all those beautiful codes you campaigned for, you still cut and paste the macrons? :snooty:

Akela - I don't use them because I found a keyboard layout that includes them.

Don't put any text between the tags - if nothing separates them, they work.

Mel Gibson utters a few short lines of Latin in the movie Braveheart, while attempting to impress a lady.

:D

According to one website the quote is supposed to be: "Ego numquam pronunciare mendacium, sed ego sum homo indomitus"
It is supposed to mean "I never tell a lie, but I am a savage."

Another mangled Latin phrase. Not completely undecipherable, though.

by classical standards, this should actually venio rather than venit (even better with "ego is sum" before)... not sure if it has become tolerable in eccl

And then there is "Liberate tuteme ex inferis" from Event Horizon :bawling:

Libera te ex infernis linguae cruciatae Latinae.

Edit: I tried to minimize the gore around the Latin phrase...

The television show LOST has some Latin in it. But, be warned, it is done rather horribly. :brickwall:

Decimvs, I embedded the video in your post. I hope it is ok:)

There is some (comparable) Latin in Supernatural:

I watched a little bit of Supernatural... it was a little too dark and twisted for my taste.
