What is the best way to say "need" for something that you already have but must keep. I see egeō, but it seems to imply needing something that one lacks. I just want to make sure it is a good word for both senses, or if there is a better word.
So far, it seems like the idea you're going for is something along the lines of "necessary to preserve/protect/maintain" (necesse servere) or "necessary to have/possess" (necesse habere).
What did you specifically want to use this for? Some more context could be helpful.
