Hi there,

New here. I'm excited I found this group. A lot to learn.

I found "Pain is temporary glory is forever." type translations.
I'm wondering if omitting the end, using only "pain is temporary"
changes the translation or otherwise.

"Be water my friend" I searched for to no avail. Any help is greatly
Appreciated.

What translations did you find? And what is meant by "Be water"? Like "Let water be my friend"?

For the first, something like:

dolor paulisper, gloria/laus in perpetuum (per)manet.

Edit: just the pain would be, dolor paulisper (per)manet.

The translation(s) I found here by searching "pain is temporary."
The results I found had added phrases such as "glory is eternal" etc.

The "Be water my friend" is from this Bruce Lee quote: Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless — like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup; You put water into a bottle it becomes the bottle; You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

A full translation would be amazing if anyone feels up to it.

Aqua, amice, esto. = "Be water, my friend."

Assuming the friend is male, or of an unspecified gender.
