Looks tricky to me! I would have rather thought it was about being fed by some face of a snake.

I didn't find too, except for verbs indicating a movement, but then it's different.

I came across these Italian secret services' motto and I am quite puzzled. Does anyone have any clue as to why it is spelled audeam instead of audiam?

I suspect it is a secret best known to themselves.
I really, really, really, really hope it is not a mistake, but I can't figure out any other explanaton. >.< And none in 30 years pointed out the mistake???

I am wondering if it's just mistake that has spread out over the internet. This secret service (SISMI) doesn't exist any more since 2007, however looking at their old website from the Web Archive, it seems that their last motto was "Arcana Intellego". This 1986 article from German newspaper Die Zeit on the former head of counterespionage at SISMI quotes the correct version of the motto (with audiam instead of audeam).

To me it doesn't sound like the kind of Latin mistake an Italian would make, although it cannot be ruled out.

According to this Italian government publication, it looks like "Omnia Silendo Ut Audeam Nosco" was a previous motto used by the agency.

Yes, I'm puzzled.
What do you find puzzling ultimately? That the boo-boo was not made by any Tom, Dick or Harry, but by the Italian security service? In my experience boo-boos happen at every level, and the UK is probably no better than Italy in this respect.

That it stood the test of time, perhaps.

On the other hand, there was a shop in Harlem called Whelan Drugs. But the sign outside had come in three separate sections, and had erected so that it read WHN DELARUGS. I don't know how long it lasted, and the internet isn't being of any use here, but it was quite a while.

I find it puzzling because it is from a national security service... :(

I was using google translate.

I wrote "Quod universum est a super tresdecim sescenti anno veteris". Google thinks it translates to "That the universe is from the darkness of the cows".

There's no doubt that Google Translate is hopeless at Latin, but to be fair, here the original doesn't make much sense either, though a human being might guess that it's supposed to be about the age of the universe and wouldn't fetch darknesses and cows that weren't there.

At several places, but for example 20:25... Sounds like Intertran.

Her voice deserved better.

Here are the original lyrics:

I was left to my own devices
Many days fell away with nothing to show
And the walls kept tumbling down
In the city that we love
Grey clouds roll over the hills
Bringing darkness from above
But if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like
Nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like
You've been here before?
But if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like
Nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like
You've been here before?
Nothing changed at all
Nothing changed at all
We were caught up and lost in all of our vices
In your pose as the dust settled around us
And the walls kept tumbling down
In the city that we love
Grey clouds roll over the hills
Bringing darkness from above
But if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like
Nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like
You've been here before?
Nothing changed at all
Nothing changed at all
Oh where do we begin?
The rubble or our sins?
Oh where do we begin?
The rubble or our sins?
But if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like
Nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like
You've been here before?
Nothing changed at all
Nothing changed at all
