Periochae or Eutropius?

Quick question: which is easier for a hiker still in the foothills, Eutropius' 'Breviarium' or the 'Periochae' of Livy's AUC?

Not sure which one is easier, but maybe go with the Periochae as a way to transition into reading Livy proper?

That's part of the Grand Plan. I'm reading some Livy just now, but when it's done I want to go back a bit and find something easier to speed through for the sake of encouragement more than anything else.

I am coming to the opinion that this is a very good idea. It trains you to be able to read quickly and naturally.
