Inspirational Scars remind us that the past is real

Greetings to all Latin D members,

Today I have hurt myself hiking and thought about the following quote
"my scars remind me that the past is real "
and I would like the quote to be translated into Latin - I am not concerned about whether It is Medieval Latin or Modern Latin-

I am also concerned about the author of this quote so if someone can provide me any information about the author it would be highly appreciated,

Thanks,

Jacob

Maybe:

Cicatrices nos commonent res praeteritas veras esse for "Scars remind us that the past is real" and cicatrices me meae commonent res praeteritas veras esse for "My scars remind me that the past is real". (It wasn't entirely clear which one you wanted translated or if you wanted both.)

Excellent Pacifica, thanks a lot for having translated both versions of the quote, do you know who or anything about the author of this quote?

Thank you again,
Jacob
