Hi. I am not looking for a translation. I am trying to transcribe some Latin text from 1566 into the modern English alphabet. I do not speak Latin, so am having some trouble with f's, s's and other letters. Following is my attempt at transcribing a passage from Copernicus (see attached image). Would appreciate it if anyone could check / correct my attempt. You can ignore the Greek word. Thank you.

Si fortasse erunt ματαιόλοι qui cum omnium mathematum ignari sint, tamen de illis iudicium sibi sumunt, propter aliquem locum scripturæ, male ad suum propositum detortum, ausi suerint meum hoc institutum reprehendere ac infectari illos nihil moror, adeo ut etiam illorum iudicium tanquam temerarium contemnam.

Your transcription is mostly correct; you just got a couple of letters mixed up. Correction:

Si fortasse erunt ματαιολόγοι, qui cum omnium mathematum ignari sint, tamen de illis iudicium sibi sumunt, propter aliquem locum scripturæ, male ad suum propositum detortum, ausi fuerint meum hoc institutum reprehendere ac insectari: illos nihil moror, adeo ut etiam illorum iudicium tanquam temerarium contemnam.

You said we should ignore the Greek word but I've corrected it anyway since it didn't take much time or effort.
