Tattoo Somewhere between hello and goodbye there was love

Hi everyone :)

This is my first time posting so I'm sorry if I don't fill everything out correctly - please don't flame me.

Would anyone be able to translate "Somewhere between hello and goodbye there was love" for me, please? For some context, the text is talking about the fact that between the point where you meet someone and the point where they are no longer in your life you would've experienced love with that person. I'm not sure if the way I explained it makes sense, but I just think it's a really beautiful quote that I want to get tattooed to commemorate past relationships and remind myself that even if the person is no longer in my life they contributed positively at some point.

I don't know if this plays a role in the translation or not so I'm just going to include it but the use of "love" isn't necessarily romantic, but is also meant in a platonic sense.

I really appreciate you taking the time to read this and look forward to reading your replies.
Thanks so much.

Don't know why, but something about the bits in bold pleases me.

I kind of like that type of construction too.
