In hac via Cicero medicum eius vidit, non suum.
on this road,
Cicero sees his doctor, not his own.

i’m sure there is a significant difference in meaning between suus and eius, but I can’t find it.

The last word should presumably be suum.

Eius means "his" as in some other person's before mentioned in the context, while suus means his own.

Also, in hac via would better translate as "on this way/road", rather than "in this way". "In this way" sounds like "in this manner", and that's not what the Latin means.
