Tantaene animis caelestibus irae

This ablative without a preposition doesn't fit any grammatical rule that I know of. Can someone explain this to me? Also, I'm aware of all the poetical license Vergil and many other authors use. Is there a list I can look at? What else should I be warned about in the Aeneid?

It's a dative of possession, not ablative. literally "are there such angers for the heavenly minds?", i.e. "do the heavenly minds have such angers?"

Yes, I believe this is dative.

Expect, though, Oliver, to find indeed quite a few preposition-less ablatives in poetry where in prose in/ex/ab/de would have been required.
