The translation sounds right. There may be some slight undertone that would be clear for someone who had studied Latin for longer than I have. You may need to ask someone more experienced, like emailing a Latin prof or someone like that
I want to get a tattoo with 'viam aut inveniam aut faciam'. I just cannot pick where it should go yet. I do not want it too obvious: not on a shoulder or anything like that, not to stress some of my parents' classy friends out
Ok that's good, you don't happen to have any Latin prof's e-mail adress? hehe
so what does 'viam aut inveniam aut faciam' means? I know what you mean about getting a tattoo anywhere obvious on your body! that's not so funny..
I already got my name tattooed on my stomach, a very nice place to have a tattoo...I can really recommend that =)
aut viam inveniam aut faciam means I'll either find a way or make one.
The stomach idea sounds interesting. So your tattoo can only be seen if you wear a bathing suit? And where would 'sky is the limit' go?
Oh I like that one, sounds really nice!
yes exactly, I want to be able to cover my tattoo when needed!
about the 'sky is the limit' tattoo; I have second thoughts about it, not sure I want that anymore since it doesn't sounds equally beautiful in latin as in english and swedish...so I have a couple of options I'm considering:
Amor vincit omnia
Si vis amari, ama.
Sic itur ad astra
so only time will tell, I won't get any tattoo until I'm 110 % sure of what I want..
