There is no love in hate nor hate in love

Hello folks!

I'm just trying to translate the following:

"There is no love in hate nor hate in love"

The best I could come up with is probably pretty cryptic:

"Haud diligo est in vereor; haud vereor est in diligo"

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

One can't just take first-person verb forms, johnnyspain, like diligo and vereor, and treat them as if they were substantives.

Vereor is also tricky: it can mean "I fear", but it can also mean "I revere".

I think qmf's version is quite reasonable.

Sometimes we over stuff that can be simply put in a few words and then we just feel like .

Some possibilities:

formido : fear, dread
metus : fear, dread, anxiety
terror : fright, fear, terror
timor : fear, dread/ alarm, object causing fear
