Love They were like lovebirds...

My fiance and I love this excerpt from Mother Night by Kurt Vonnegut Jr:
"They were lovebirds. They entertained each other endlessly with little gifts: sights worth seeing out the plane window, amusing or instructive bits from things they read, random recollections of times gone by. They were, I think, a flawless example of what Bokonon calls a duprass, which is a karass composed of only two persons."

With the help of Whitaker's Words and the Latin Lexicon, I have:
"erant amoraves. delectavere invicem ad infinitem donis paulis: speciees dignae aspicientibus, paulula lepida aut consiliosa ex lectis, recordationes passivae aevorum. Erant, censeo, exemplum acentetum cuius Bokonon apellat 'duprass,' quid est 'karass' compositum modo duorum"

I never took a composition class, so any suggestions would be much appreciated, especially with flow, word order, and vocab! Things I struggled with were "plane window," "instructive," "random," "times gone by." I think the feeling of this excerpt can be easily understood, but it basically is talking about a bond between two people.

Note: Subject title is wrong, should be "They were lovebirds etc"
