Thunderbird

Should one rewrite 'thunderbird' as 'bird of thunder' before translating it into Latin as I have done in the following:

Avis Tonitrus

Adrian

Civis Illustris

  • Civis Illustris

tonitrualis would translate more to thunderous (an epiteth reserved for Zeus). Thunderbird had power to create thunder by flapping its' wings. Avis tonitrus though is grammaticaly correct for "bird of a/the thunder"

Matthaeus

Vemortuicida strenuus

  • Civis Illustris

  • Patronus

Cool, I like necro-posting. :D
