Tattoo Times flies. Live, love and learn.

Hi all,

Thanks in advance for any help or feedback. I'm looking at getting a tattoo but am unsure about the correct phrasing/spelling.

I'm getting a watch face and want the script to say "Time flies. Live, love and learn."

What I have so far is "Tempus fugit. Vivere, amare et discere."

Can anyone confirm or correct this please?

Thank you again.

It should be Tempus fugit. Vive, ama, et disce.

Hi,

Tempus fugit is correct, but the rest not quite. That should be vive, ama, disce. Of course, the alliteration of the English is lost in translation.

It should be "Tempus digit. Vive, ama, et disce".
Digit??? You mean fugit.

Et is rarely used between the last two items of a list. It's usually either repeated (vive et ama et disce) or dropped altogether (vive, ama, disce). The latter option sounds better to me here.

Ok then, just without the et.

Did autocorrect play a trick on you?

I'm glad there's no autocorrect on my PC. It seems like an annoying thing.

It sucks. I use eight different language keyboards daily, which doesn't help.

Thanks again. The tattoo turned out great!

Can anyone help with phonetic pronunciation of Vive, Ama, Disce so I don't sound like a complete fool when people ask about it?

Also can I post pics here if anyone wants to see how it turned out?

You can post pics here: THREAD: the-picture-thread

Classical Latin pronounciation would be "weeweh, amah, deeskeh." (Perhaps someone else can describe it better.)
