Voces Musicales

Theatrum Latino-Germanico-Graecum (Reyher, 1712):
Voces Musicales Veterum, sunt: vt, re, mi, fa, sol, la. Recentiorum vero Belgarum. Bo, ce, di, ga, lo, ma, ni.
I don't remember this system was even mentioned in the music classes I visited in my childhood. Probably, Reyher tells about Hubert Waelrant and his Bocedization method (XVI century). It's sad to recognize that in XXI we are still naming music tones old-fashioned way (irony).

P.S. When the book was published, the tone "si" had already got its name, so Reyher must be citing some earlier work.
