Sanguinem nostrum fundimus ut legamus = "We shed our own blood in order to read."

Sanguinem nostrum fundemus ut legamus = "We will shed our own blood in order to read."

There is no verb meaning "to bleed" in Latin, so we're forced to use more words to express the idea. Obviously, the rhyme is also lost in translation.

Well, I've recalled there is a verb that might work for a shorter, and even rhyming, version, but it's a rare one:

Sanguinamus ut legamus = "We bleed to read."

In the future tense, that would be sanguinabimus ut legamus, but it no longer rhymes.
