Salvete omnes! My good historian friend has asked me to translate this brief text into Polish. I'm having trouble with some of these weird medieval constructions. @Pacifica , your expert help would be greatly appreciated. For now I have this:
Thus we have an example of a certain knight who was a great robber and finally achieved great fame. And lo and behold! the word fell into his heart[???] and he barely expected, as he didn't tarry any longer, and immediately confessed [his sins I guess?] To whom the preacher enjoined a penance to build seven churches. He accepted this same penance willingly. After coming home, he suddenly fell dead due to an overwhelming contrition. And thus, with his heart cut out and superintended [?], seven churches have been found conscripted in gold [?], since the Lord had already accepted his penance. And thus he was saved. What caused this, other than the Word of God, that spiritual bread?
