An alternative latin bible translation

Besides Jerome's Vulgate version in Latin, are there any other author whose work of translation is precisely or, at least, close to classical Latin, once Jerome's is a little bit medieval?

There is also Erasmus's version of the New Testament. I haven't read much of it, but my guess is it's probably a bit more classical than the Vulgate without being quite as classical as Erasmus's original works.
