Sallust is a big change from Plautus! I am really struggling with this one:

Frūstrā autem nītī neque aliud sē fatīgandō nisi odium quaerere extrēmae dēmentiae est; nisi forte quem inhonesta et perniciōsa libīdō tenet potentiae paucōrum decus atque lībertātem suam grātificārī

I am reading it as
nisi forte inhonesta et perniciōsa libīdō (ali)quem tenet
but then I can't make sense of the last part.

Gratificari describes libido (it could have been gratificandi).
Decus atque libertatem suam is the direct object of gratificari.
Potentiae paucorum is the indirect object.

I think you mean Iugurthinum in the thread title.
