"Child", "smile" and similar L words

In everyday speech, does "child" usually feel like one or two syllables to you?

After my thread about "our" and syllabic R, I just thought why not make one about syllabic L as well. I know these words are officially monosyllabic but some people pronounce them as two syllables, so what about you?

I know I'm a bit late to this thread, but FWIW, I've always pronounced it as "CHAI-[ull]d."
