Freedom belongs to those that defend it

I am looking for a motto translation:

"Freedom belongs to those that defend it." and
"While we breath, we shall defend freedom."

How is this one

I have attempted to translate the second one, but I don't know if it is correct. Here it is:

Dum spiramus tuebimur libertas

Akela

sum

  • Princeps Senatus

Location:
BC
Looks fine, except for 'libertas' - It should be 'libertam'

dum spiramus, tuebimur libertam
or
dum spiramus, libertam defendabimus.

Here is another one I like. Is the translation correct?

Fortes fortuna iuvat
