DICTIONARIES FROM LATIN TO ANCIENT GREEK AND FROM GREEK TO LATIN

See here: http://lexica.linguax.com/

There are two right now: http://lexica.linguax.com/nlm.php
And: http://lexica.linguax.com/schrevel.php

(more will come)

Once you find some word in one dictionary, you can quickly switch to another one in the left top corner and see the same word there.

You can type the Greek almost whatever way you want (using the unicode / polytonic Greek letter), with or without accents and other diacritical signs.

But, if you want to use the Latin alphabet, you need to so using the official Greek beta-code as shown at this picture. The diacritical signs are not requiered: ( ) / \ = |

More about how to use them can be read in the dictionaries list.

Iohannes Aurum, I thought - could we perhaps make this thread sticky, since it almost seems to me that Latin-AncientGreek / AncientGreek-Latin dictionaries are almost the most important things in Greek section of a Latin forum. ; )

Thank you very much, Iohannes! When we're in this thing: there is one sticky thread of mine in the Latin resources: a syntax graph generator, but I don't think it is that important anymore and judging by the visitor count, many people rather think that the most important thing in the linguax.com website is the monolingual monumental (Latino-Latin) dictionary Forcellini, Lexicon Totius Latinitatis which I would rather prefer to be stickied instead of that syntax graph generator. So could we "unsticky" that one and put there the Forcellini instead? (It really seems to be popular all around the world amongst Latinists)

I would however need you to edit the Forcellini thread and change the web address (since I needed to change hosting):

change this line:

Available here: http://syntax.t15.org/lexica in the part of the page called Lexica Latina, dictionary no. 2

to this:

Available here: http://lexica.linguax.com/ in the part of the page called Lexica Latina, dictionary no. 2

Do you think it could be done, Iohannes Aurum? :) (Just so we adjust correctly the priority fo the resources...)

An update for the Greek dictionaries:

  • you can now input the Greek by typing with Greek letters (even with accents, aspiration signs, diaresis, iota subscriptum...).

For those who prefer typing with the Latin alphabet, the beta-code is still (and always will be) available.

The dictionaries, particularly the Greek words, are a smeared mess. I would very much like to acquire a lexicum or lexica Graeco-Latinum and Latino Graecum, but I do not wish a smeared mess or messes. Physical iterations of various authors are available and preferable; the problem is that I am not familiar with any of them.

Does anyone have information?

I have found another dictionary; it has far more readable type. However, I cannot identify it with the information provided. Please help.
