Hi! Not sure this is the right forum.
There is the toponym Ulyssipo mentioned in the book De Sito Orbis Pomponii Melae De situ orbis libri III. Cum notis integris Hermolai Barbari ... - Pomponius Mela - Google Books . Is there a different pronounciation between y and i in Latin? Would the latin y be a round front vowel like Typ in German? Any advice is welcome.
