De Re Coquinaria

Has anyone ever tried one of the recipes in Apicius's De Re Coquinaria? A grad student at my school recently made a spread based on 7.13.1 of that text, the recipe entitled Dulcia Domestica. It was a little odd served on Ritz crackers but it was fundamentally a pretty tasty snack. I'm curious what some of the other items might taste like.

Wow, this sounds interesting. I've never tried any of Roman recipes myself. There is a Roman cooking group in Yahoogroups. I don't remember its name though...
