HW: pueri tam fessi erant ut totum diem dormirent

My teacher has posted some summer work and I can't understand the sentence. I've tried a good shot at translating it but it doesn't flow??

Sentence: pueri tam fessi erant ut totum diem dormirent.

My attempted translation: The boy was so tired and slept the whole day.

The word ut is tripping me up a bit, in the word list it says it's either (as) or (that, so that, in order that) and I have also used it as (to)??

Thank you

Edit: I think i've figured it out, (the boy was so tired that he slept the whole day), not completely sure why it just wasn't working in my head!

I thought it must be a plurality of boys, given it began with pueri, not puer.
